BYOIP & BGP

Last updated 6 days ago

Free BYOIP and BGP offering has been paused starting 29 March 2025 until further notice. We're currently working on improving our internal processes and tooling to better handle these types of requests.

If you have a legitimate business reason, feel free to reach out through a support ticket - we're happy to assist you.

We offer Bring Your Own IP (BYOIP) and BGP sessions at the following locations:

  • Sydney, Australia

  • Singapore

Request BGP Session

To request BYOIP or BGP sessions, you must have at least one active VM service with us in those locations. Please navigate to BGP Sessiontab in your VM service management page to request for BGP session.

Enter the required information:

  • Your ASN (Optional): Enter your ASN if you have one and would like to use it. If not provided, we will assign a private ASN.

  • Your Prefixes: Enter the prefixes you wish to announce, with each prefix on a new line.

  • Additional Locations (Optional): To announce your prefixes in other locations, select the relevant VMs in those locations.

  • Letter of Authorisation: Attach your LoA to authorize us to announce your prefixes.

Specific Prefixes Only: Our upstream vendors can only whitelist specific prefixes that have valid RoAs. Broad prefixes with length modifiers (e.g., le /48) cannot be accepted.

We will conduct a quick RoA check before accepting your submission. If you are not using your own ASN, please ensure your route objects are configured with our ASN (152900).

BGP session requests are sent to our upstream vendors for processing every Wednesday. Requests submitted after 12:00 AM Wednesday (Sydney time) will be processed the following week.

The BGP Session tab provides the necessary details for configuring a BGP session. You can also refer to the following information

Our Side

  • ASN: 64515

  • IPv4: 169.254.169.254

  • IPv6: 2401:a4a0::194

Your Side

  • IPv4: the primary IPv4 of your VM

  • IPv6: the ::194 address of your server's /64 subnet

  • eBGP multihop: 3

  • Password: Provided by our support team once the session is ready.

Please make sure to announce the full subnet as per your LoA so that it gets announced out on the internet.
