Onidel Cloud enables you to mount your own ISOs directly from our self-serve platform. With the Custom ISO feature, you can upload and mount any ISO under 10GB to your cloud server, allowing you to install the operating system of your choice.
Onidel Cloud allows you to upload ISOs via an HTTP/HTTPS URL. The ISO file must be smaller than 10GB and will automatically be deleted after 7 days. To upload your ISO, navigate to Orchestration -> ISOs:
Enter the download URL in the text box and click Upload. The upload status will update every 5 minutes. Once the status is marked as Active
, you can mount the ISO to an existing cloud server or deploy a new server with the ISO.
Instead of using pre-built images, you can select your uploaded ISO during the deployment process. An empty cloud server will be created and will boot directly from the selected ISO.
Onidel Cloud platform also allows you to attach a Virtio driver as a secondary CD, useful for Windows installations. If you're installing a recent version of Windows that requires a TPM module, you can attach it as well. Refer to the next section for instructions on attaching the Virtio driver CD and TPM module.
To mount an ISO to an existing cloud server, navigate to Virtual Machines menu and select the existing cloud server you want to mount the ISO to. Under the Storage section, navigate to Custom ISO & TPM tab.
Select the desired ISO from the dropdown and click Attach. A confirmation prompt will appear. Note that the server will undergo a hard reboot, so it's recommended to perform a graceful shutdown beforehand to prevent data corruption.
If you're installing Windows, you may also need to attach the Virtio driver CD to your instance. You can do this by clicking Attach next to the Virtio ISO row.
In most cases, the secondary CD drive is already available in your server, so no reboot is necessary. However, if the Virtio CD is not visible after attaching, you may need to reboot the cloud server to apply the changes.
For recent versions of Windows that require a TPM module, you can attach a TPM v2.0 module to your cloud server from this section. A hard reboot is required for the server to recognise the attached TPM module.
Onidel Cloud supports both dynamic (DHCP) and static IPv4 configuration. If you prefer static configuration, you can find the required IP address and gateway details in the Network section below Storage.
We currently do not support automatic or dynamic IPv6 assignment. IPv6 must be configured manually. All the necessary information can be found under the Public IPv6 tab in the Network section.
